Physical activity when living with diabetes

Regular movement supports cardiovascular and metabolic health. Walking and other accessible activities can contribute. People with medical conditions should discuss suitable activity with their healthcare team rather than treating general information as an individual exercise prescription.
For people living with diabetes, activity belongs in a plan that considers meals, medicines and monitoring. Ask about safety when using medicines that lower glucose or when foot problems limit movement. Walking or adapted movement may be options. Do not change insulin, skip meals or push through illness because of general exercise advice.
