Privacy and participation

What you are choosing
HealthGuide offers general health education. It is not a diagnostic, clinical triage or emergency service. Conservative safety messages may direct you to in-person care, but cannot reliably detect every emergency or determine that symptoms are safe. Participation in the initial evaluation is voluntary and limited to consenting adults aged 18 and over. Use the supplied fictional scenarios, rather than real personal health information. You can stop using the service at any time.
What we keep and why
We keep your name, email address, hashed password, consent version and date, and the conversations you create. These support account access and conversation history. When guided chat becomes available, saved questions, responses, timing, source references and feedback may be reviewed to evaluate relevance, accuracy, usability and safety. Do not enter patient names, contact details or other identifying health information.
Access and external processing
Your history is available through your account. The service operator can access stored data to maintain the service. Authorised study reviewers may review evaluation records. Your healthcare account is separate from school portal accounts. Academic text search runs locally. If semantic search is selected, the question is sent to OpenAI to calculate a search representation. When AI generation is authorised, the question, relevant recent conversation messages and eligible published passages are sent to OpenAI to compose an answer. Requests may pass through our n8n automation service. Account names and email addresses are not deliberately included. Processing can occur outside Nigeria. Requests disable response storage; this does not guarantee zero retention. Do not enter real patient or sensitive personal information. Each submitted question requires a separate processing-consent confirmation. Paid AI calls remain disabled until the owner approves their cost and configuration is complete.
Deleting your information
You can delete individual conversations or delete your account and its conversations in account settings. Current account records are kept until deletion. A fixed study retention and backup-deletion schedule must be published before participant evaluation begins. Until then, use this service only for local testing with fictional data.
Content reviewer records
Submitted professional content reviews retain the reviewer name, role, credential-verification reference, decision, supporting evidence and article snapshot for accountability. These audit records are separate from conversation history and may retain attribution after a reviewer account is deleted. The operator must approve and publish the audit-retention policy before recruiting reviewers or participants.
Important limits
HealthGuide does not provide diagnosis, prescriptions or emergency response. Seek a qualified healthcare professional for individual medical concerns. Content review and research oversight do not establish clinical validation. No clinical benefit or particular outcome is promised.
Questions or withdrawal
Contact the person who invited you or the study supervisor before participating if you have questions about the study or withdrawal. Named study contact information will be supplied before participant recruitment.
