Planning for skilled care at delivery

Complications can arise during or after childbirth. Skilled care and timely treatment improve the ability to respond. Discuss a delivery plan and access to professional services during antenatal care rather than relying on an online checklist.
During antenatal visits, discuss a suitable facility, skilled staff, transport, referral arrangements and what to bring. Ask how to seek help if the planned route becomes unavailable. Heavy bleeding, fainting, seizures or severe pain during pregnancy or after childbirth needs immediate assessment. This is not home-delivery instruction or assurance of low risk. Local services and emergency routes still need obstetric and Nigerian pathway review.
