Why following the TB treatment plan matters
Medication safety · Version 2

TB treatment requires an appropriate prescribed course and follow-up. Interrupting or incorrectly using treatment can contribute to poor outcomes and resistance. Discuss difficulties or side effects with the treating team rather than changing the regimen independently.
Tell the TB team promptly if side effects, cost, travel or availability makes following the plan difficult. Ask how to obtain supplies and attend follow-up. Do not borrow tablets or use chat to shorten, extend or change treatment. This article is TB-specific. Other medicines have different instructions; ask the prescriber or pharmacist rather than applying TB advice to every medicine.
